Well thats the hard work done at last and its a great feeling!! All i need now is patience, its still a little chilly! So i am holding out making direct sowings, though do have lettuce, carrots and broad beans out with protection, and obviously the onions, garlic and shallots are well away. As usual i have sown too much of everything and not having a greenhouse at home YET!!!! ive ran out of room, the dining room is full as is the mini coldframes etc....

Accquired excellent pallets from a building site, all for nothing due to a kind foreman. Decided to put a boundary fence around the plot, the pallets were sawn 3/4 and then a few posts inbetween made it secure. Might grow some courgettes on them and train them up!!!! The bins were also made of pallets and secured with a few posts!! I havent put chicken wire or anything else there to deter rats as if they want to get in then they will, but touch wood none as yet!!! The big bin was filled with horse manure delivered in bags! It was very fresh so will use it later. The 2 smaller bins have easy access by a long hinge which makes it easy to get a fork in at the bottom.

Well this has helped me heaps! My mates turned up (about bloody time), obviously they were smiling b4 they started digging. All the beds have been dug now! Thank god for that, i went to the local recycling centre and purchased organic westcountry compost and well rotted zoo poo! It was very cheap by not purchasing it in bags, i accquired my m8s trailer and filled it up at only a fiver a load!!! the bags were a fiver for two, so i estimated i purchased in all 40 bags for the price of 10 or there abouts. Cheers to my m8s guess i better buy them a nice cold one..... Happy days!!!!

Over halfway now, its surprising what can be achieved by just plodding along. Though i wish i had used a smaller fork!!!!! My back is killing me, weeds are gonna be a problem i feel, those docks seem to go down miles.

I think it looks quite quaint now though a m8 has been whistling an obscure tune which i found out to be Little house on the prairre!!!!! As you can see i'm plot 3 of 9, yes its a small site and there is quite a slope, but its quiet and the soil on the whole is very good!! Infact in the whole of January i haven't seen any1 else, though obviously people have their own allocated free time!!!

As you can see a shed has arrived, £50 which sounds a lot second hand but its all tongue and groove 8 by 5 and has a few bolts not 100's of screws. At last a place to store tools and of course to put my portable stove to make a brew! I'm gonna make a little feature around the shed, a little fence and steps made from trees that the council chopped down and of course just left it there!! Planning the plot has been harder than i thought having to think weeks or months ahead on something new is quite a challenge.

Phew! Hard work but definitely worth it, as you can see a rockery has appeared! Due to the constant pinging sound as the fork penetrated the surface and wrist shattering, thought a few flowers etc.. would be nice! Iv'e decided to create paths around the 12 good size beds that im hoping to create. The 1st one has been covered with plastic and i plan to put my first-earlies in this one. Been on the look out for a shed so fingers crossed.

Well! here it is my PLOT! Its quite overgrown, but nothing a fork and spade and hard work can't handle. There are a fair number of nettles around, which is a good thing. There's no time like the present so ill start clearing and digging.
